10 MUST-WATCH Upcoming Anime in 2021


If you’re a huge anime fan like us, then you probably new anime and anime seasons as soon as they come out. However, sometimes it can be hard to know which new anime are coming out soon and when they are exactly coming out. In 2021, many new anime are set to be released along with many new seasons of popular anime. In this article we are going to be compiling a list of new anime/new anime seasons that will be coming out in 2021 to make it easier for you to know when you can start watching them! So, if you’re looking for some new anime to watch this year…make sure to keep reading!!


1. Demon Slayer Season 2

Demon Slayer, also known as Kimetsu No Yaiba, was hands down the most popular anime in 2019 and it also claimed the top spot in 2020 due to the release of its extremely popular movie ‘Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’. After this, fans are anxiously awaiting the release of the new season. If you are a fan of Demon Slayer, you will know that the release date has not yet officially been announced however the anime has stated that it is currently developing the second season. Due to this, they have predicted that the season will be released in autumn/winter 2021! This means that we will be able to watch the new season this year. The new season will carry on from where the film left off and will cover the next arc of the manga. Of course, if you can’t wait you could simply read the manga however the anime certainly looks like it is going to be capturing the action amazingly so I would still recommend watching it.

2. Shigeki No Kyojin: The Final Season

Attack on Titan, or Shigeki No Kyojin, have already started to release episodes of the FINAL season for the anime!! Although these episodes technically started to get released in winter 2020, they are continuing to be released in 2021 weekly. If you’re in Japan, the episodes can be accessed on Netflix where they will be uploaded weekly; they will also be aired on Japanese TV weekly. Due to this being the final season, we can expect all our questions to finally get answered and all the secrets about the anime to come out. If you are a fan of the Attack on Titan anime and manga, you have to watch this new season!

3. Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen has become one of the most popular anime recently with it’s unique storyline and well developed characters. Although the anime started to be aired in 2020, it is still going to be continuing to air into this new year. Again, if you’re in Japan you can view the episodes weekly on Netflix or the TV. This anime is looking to become one of the most popular animes in 2020 due to how popular it is already so it is very worth watching. Many have even likened the anime to ones such as Naruto, due to it’s feel good vibe and positive characters! If you haven’t started watching it yet, make sure to catch up so you’re ready for the new episodes being released this year.

4. Dr. Stone Season 2

Dr. Stone is a unique anime that follows a group of friends trying to find out what happened to their world. The story line is very original and unlike any other anime out there. The first season proved to be extremely popular and so it is coming back for a second season this year in 2021! If you love emotional stories that have a lot of depth tp them then this is certainly the anime for you, just make sure you watch the first season before you watch the new one. If you’re a Dr. Stone fan, you don’t have to wait long for the release of the new season as it will be out at the beginning of 2021!!

5. To Your Eternity

To Your Eternity, or Fumetsu No Awata He in Japanese, is an amazing manga that is being turned into an anime this year! The plot follows main character, Fushi, who can change into those who leave a lasting impression on him. He starts out as a simple ball of energy but begins to take shape into various beings as they emotionally connect with him. The story follows him on his adventures throughout the world as he tries to discovers who, or what, he is. This manga has been quite popular in Japan which has allowed it to be turned into an anime! It will be released in Spring 2021 and will likely be released as one episode a week. This is a great new anime for those who love adventure stories and look for unique anime.

6. Yakusoku No Neverland Season 2

Yakusoku No Neverland, or The Promised Neverland in English, is an extremely popular anime at the minute. The plot of the anime is a mix of horror and adventure, and the story is also quiet heart warming. Due to the popularity of season one, the anime is carrying on to season two which will be released this year! The new season will carry on from where season one left off and will focus on the children’s journey to finding somewhere where they can call home. 7. Tokyo Revengers

Tokyo Revengers is a great anime for those who love stories that are similar to real life. This story is set in Tokyo and deals with real life issues that arise in the city. The anime follows the main character, Takemichi, who’s girlfriend has just been murdered by a group of gang members in Tokyo. The story is very heartwarming and emotional and it is interesting to see an anime that takes place in modern day Tokyo. The anime is said to also have themes of time travel as Takemichi sets out to avenge his girlfriend’s death. If you like animes that are set in real life locations in Tokyo then this is certainly the anime for you.

8. Yuukoku No Moriarty Season 2

Moriarty the Patriot, or Yuukoku No Moriarty, is a unique anime that takes the story of Sherlock and turns it on its head. In this anime, Moriarty becomes the main character and is arguably the protagonist of the story. Whereas Sherlock on the other had is more of the antagonist. It’s really interesting to see such a dynamic, especially in an anime where all the action is even more fun to watch. This year, season 2 is coming out and is said to be even better than the first season.
