5 Real-Life Spots Featured in Zombie Land Saga Revenge

Taking inspiration from real-life locations, Zombie Land Saga Revenge allows its viewers to explore the world of the series in real life! And if you enjoy watching anime series like Naruto, Zombie Land Saga Revenge will be right up your alley!

1. Drive-In Tori

Drive-In Tori is the location of the zombie idol group’s first gig that gathers a significant amount of popularity. It is also Saki Nikaido’s favorite restaurant and is featured in the 5th episode of the anime. The sound tunes that were used in the commercial filmed by the group are the same that is used by the restaurant in real life! The actual restaurant gained a credible boost of sales and popularity, a few days after the episode featuring the place was released. The lines to the restaurant ran all the way out of the door and around the block! Talk about the influence of idols – let alone zombie idols – on your business!

Another popular series with real-life inspired locations that might make it to your bucket list is Shigatsu Wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April).

2. Saga Castle

Saga Castle makes an appearance in Episode 8 which initiates character Yuugiri’s backstory. The animation goes on to take viewers on a tour of Saga during the Meiji era, including the most prominent building in the region – Saga Castle. Saga Castle, a compound of multiple buildings has been standing since the early part of the 1600s. Despite being the victim of a number of devastating fires, Saga Castle stands as a firm representation of the struggles undertaken by the citizens of Saga to secure and safeguard their culture. This is precisely what characters Kotaro and Kiichi attempt to do during the anime series.

Saga Castle also survived the fire caused in the Saga Rebellion of 1874 where samurais clashed with the government over the steady Westernization of the area that was threatening their way of life.

3. Ekimae Real Estate Stadium

Zombieland Saga: Revenge begins the first episode with Kotaro booking the group for a concert in the 25,000 seaters Ekimae Fudousan Stadium. They, however, fail to realize that the venue is too large and the group is not popular enough to sell out the stadium. The featured stadium is the Ekimae Real Estate Stadium that is also the place of Ai’s death in the year 2008. At that point in time, it was named Best Amenity Stadium. The stadium is also used for occasional concerts and rugby games.

4. Arpino

Arpino is the stage that serves as the final performance location of Franchouchou and is located nearby Karatsu Station in Saga. This is a group that performed on the stage in real life as well! The stage, however, did not collapse on the idols in real life as occurred in the anime. Regardless, Arpino humorously penned and sent an apology letter in real life to the producers of the anime after the final episode was released. In the letter, they apologized for endangering the lives of the idols performing on stage, assuring that they would take the necessary steps to make sure that it does not happen again.
This might just be the reason why Franchouchou returned to perform in real life!

5. Hasuike Park

Quite close to the Saga Castle, is a beautiful park featured in Episode 8. Replete with cherry blossom trees and stone bridges and a huge pond where character Kiichi falls into when he first sets eyes on Yuugiri, this location serves to introduce all of the Saga Incident characters. The two characters encounter a paper origami windmill and after the fall, Kiichi ends up developing a bad cold. This is also a popular park that has seen a significant increase in visitors after the release of this specific episode – much like Drive-In Tori!
