MUST GO Places in Tokyo for Pokemon Lovers
If you’re a fan of the popular franchise ‘Pokemon’ (ポケットモンスター), Tokyo is somewhere you HAVE to visit. The city is FULL of Pokemon themed stores, cafes and MUCH MORE! This list will show you the absolute BEST and MUST GO places in Tokyo for Pokemon lovers!
1. Pokemon Cafe
This new Pokemon cafe, located in Nihonbashi, Is the FIRST permanent Pokemon cafe in Tokyo and was opened in March 14th 2019. The menu is full of super tasty food and there is something for everyone (they even have a veggie burger on offer which is quite rare in Tokyo)! All the food is decorated very cute, it’s almost too cute to eat! Everything about the cafe is pokemon themed, from the food to the decor and even the staff! (If you’re lucky chef Pikachu will come out to say hi!)
To order food you use this tablet which is located on your table. You can change the language of the table to several different languages, making it extremely easy to order and it conveniently avoids any language barriers!
Prices for each dish vary but most dishes are over 1000yen so it is a bit more on the pricey side. But if you’re a pokemon fan and are looking for some cute food and an amazing experience in Tokyo then it’s definitely worth the money!

2. Pokemon Center MEGA TOKYO
Although there are many Pokemon Centers located throughout Tokyo, this one in Ikebukuro is the BIGGEST and arguably the BEST Pokemon center in Tokyo! This store stocks all the Pokemon merchandise of your dreams and there really is something for everyone here! From Pokemon plushies, to Pokemon clothes, to Pokemon Stationary…This store has it ALL! This is also an amazing place to go if you’re looking for some good souvenirs for your friends back home!

3. Tokyo Character Street
Tokyo Character Street is a street located underneath Tokyo Station that is full of character shops! One of these includes a Pokemon shop! Although the shop is not as big as the Pokemon Center, the reason this place is great is that you can visit the other shops of characters you love! It makes it much easier for those who are in a rush trying to find good souvenirs/ character merchandise due to everything being in one place and it being in Tokyo Station!
This store has a lot of Merchandise that you can only buy in this store such as Pokemon plushies that are dressed up as a train driver!

4. Pikachu Outbreak Festival
If you happen to be in Tokyo in early August 2020, you have to get down to this festival in Yokohama! The festival will be held from the 6th of August 2020 to the 12th of August 2020! This festival is completely FREE and anyone can attend! Next year the festival will be collating with Pokemon Go to make it a bigger and even better festival!

5. Nakano Broadway
Although Nakano Broadway is not a Pokemon specific place, it does have tons of vintage and new Pokemon collectable items on offer! You can even get limited edition items that are not sold anymore at a great price! There is no shop that is solely dedicated to Pokemon so you may have to search a bit to find what you’re looking for, but that means you can find other rare character goods at the same time!
