1. Pretty Cure (PreCure) Store, Tokyo Character Street
Pretty Cure, known as PreCure is a popular anime both in Japan and overseas! Due to it’s popularity in Japan, a whole store has been opened that is dedicated to the anime. This is located in Tokyo Character Street which is underneath Tokyo Station.
The store opened in 2011 and is FULL of Pretty Cure anime merchandise, from plushies to snacks to stationary…they have it ALL. In fact, they have over 400 different items on sale, all Pretty Cure themed!
There are in fact only 3 official Pretty Cure merchandise stores in Tokyo, the other two are is Osaka and Fukuoka…so if you’re in Tokyo and are a Pretty Cure fan…you HAVE to go here!

2. Pokemon Center MEGA Tokyo, Ikebukuro
The Pokemon Center MEGA Tokyo is located in Ikebukuro and is the BIGGEST official Pokemon store in the whole of Tokyo! The decor of the shop is AMAZING…with there being a giant poke ball in the entrance along with the iconic Charizard and Pikachu statue!
The store was first opened in 2014 and has continued to grow in popularity since then thus resulting in the store to expand their products. Today, you can get anything from Pokemon themed food to various plushies and merchandise from the store! They also have many games on offer in the store. This really is an unmissable spot in Tokyo especially for Pokemon fans

Sanrio World GINZA, is one of the biggest Sanrio stores in Tokyo, selling everything that a Sanrio fan would want! They also have a sizable area for each character, whether is Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, Gudetama or Pompompurin (or any of the other characters) they have merchandise for them ALL!
The merchandise ranges from food to stationary to plushies and is all sanrio themed! This store is also great for souvenirs as Hello Kitty has become a symbol of Japan, even if people don’t know about sanrio…they have to know Hello Kitty!

The Rilakkuma Store is located in Tokyo Character street and is one of the CUTEST shops you will visit in Tokyo! The entrance is shaped like a bear head which adds to the cuteness! The store sells tons of merchandise including Rilakkuma CLOTHES!!!

5. Sailor Moon Store, Harajuku
The Sailor Moon store located in Harajuku is the FIRST PERMANENT Sailor Moon Store to Open in Japan. It opened fairly recently in 2017 and has since grown in popularity. The store has a wide variety of items for sailor moon fans, ranging from Sailor Moon Cosmetics to Sailor moon accessories.
The store itself is amazing to get a picture with, due to the store being decked out with pink EVERYTHING. There are also pictures of the girls throughout the store for you to take pictures with!

8. Kiddy Land, Harajuku
Although Kiddy Land is technically not a character shop (it’s actually a kids toy shop), they have TONS of character goods. Their themed goods include those of Rilakkuma, MIFFY, Sailor Moon, Sanrio, Harry Potter, Snoopy and MUCH MORE! The shop is great for people who are short on time as it is full of all the character goods you need in one building. They sometimes even have original goods that you can’t get anywhere else!

This is the biggest Moomin shop in Tokyo dedicated to the children’s program titled ‘The Moomins’. The Moomins themed goods have recently grown in popularity and can seen being worn by many teenagers who have an interest in ‘kawaii style’. There are even multiple Moomin themed cafes dotted around Tokyo selling tapioca and coffee.
