It’s finally November, which means it’s finally time to get ready for this years christmas! Although, for many, christmas is a time to spend at home with family, there are also many people who choose to travel to Japan during christmas or perhaps happen to live there, such as study abroad students, and can’t afford the flight home. If that’s you and you happen to love anime, we’re here to show you the BEST anime events that you can go to in Tokyo this christmas and make memories you’ll never forget! These are events that can only be experienced in Tokyo THIS YEAR so make sure you clear your schedule and get ready to attend some of these events!
1. Haikyu Stage Show (06/12/19 – 15/12/19)
One of the biggest events that will be on in Tokyo this christmas time is the Haikyu Live Stage Show that will be held in Tokyo, Osaka and Miyagi, but today we will be focusing on Tokyo. If you’re interested in finding out more information on the other locations, make sure to check out the official website here. The show will be held in Shinjuku, making it super easy to access! The show will feature all the characters from the anime acting out various scenes from the anime. The scenes are acted out very well and each have their own artistic twist on them.
There are two types of tickets available on sale which each have a different price. The first type is called ‘A Seats’, tickets for these seats cost 7000yen and offer a standard view of the stage and show. If you’re looking to get a much better view of the show and be in with a chance of getting front row seats, you can also buy tickets which are called ‘S seats’. These cost 9000yen which is fairly expensive but promise to give you an amazing view of the show. For more information, make sure to check out the official website.
2. Banana Fish Pop Up Christmas Cafe (21/11/19 – 13/01/20)
Banana Fish will be holding a christmas themed pop up cafe in Harajuku this year! The title of the cafe is ‘BANANA FISH Cafe and Bar – winter in NY’. The cafe will be themed around the Banana Fish characters enjoying christmas in New York city. As you can see from the picture above, the food will be around ‘western’ christmas food. Meaning there will be a lot of roast meats, breads and soups! Everything looks super tasty!
Each dish comes with a super cute post card with the characters on that is christmas themed, perfect for gifting to your Banana Fish loving friends! On top of that, there will also be tons of original merchandise on offer in the cafe!! There will be things such as magnets and badges on offer, all featuring the characters in there super cute winter outfits!
Entrance costs 650yen and each dish ranges in price from 1000yen to 2000yen. There is also tons of drinks on offer, each are character themed.
3. Pokemon Center ‘White Christmas’ (11/02/19 – 13/01/2020)
All pokemon centers in Tokyo have announced their official lineup of christmas goods that will be on offer this year. This year there theme is ‘White Christmas’ and they will be selling tons of original goods including the characters in various christmas outfits and also christmas goods. For example, this year there is a pokemon advent calendar and pokemon snow globes on offer! These are the perfect christmas gifts and souvenirs for your friends who love pokemon this christmas.
This PreCure christmas concert will be held for ONE DAY ONLY with 3 different times to choose from. This one os for all of you who will be in southern Japan in December, as this event is located in Wakayama City. The stage show will feature all the characters in their original costumes, singing various songs and dancing! Aswell as acting out some scenes too! Like with any PreCure stage show this one is setting out to be the cutest, most colorful and fun stage show of the year whilst also including many christmas themed elements!
As if that isn’t enough, after the stage show there will be many LIMITED EDITION goods on offer that can only be bought at the stage show! Great for those of you who love collecting things!

Tickets for the show will be 2,800yen which is fairly cheap compared to other anime christmas shows! If you buy your ticket on the day, it will be another 200yen so make sure to buy it before if you can! For more information, check out the official website here!
