Anime Cafes Being Held in Tokyo 2020 (Spring)

If you’re going to Tokyo this year and are a major anime fan, you’re probably looking for some amazing spots to visit that are anime themed. Whilst there are tons of spots like real life anime locations and anime shops, if you’re looking for a unique anime experience…you HAVE to visit one of Tokyo’s anime cafes! Anime cafes are almost always temporary so you have to go during the period that the cafe is being held! Due to them being temporary, they always sell LIMITED EDITION merchandise from the anime, which is even more reason to go! This year (2020) Tokyo has some amazing anime cafes lined up from animes like Demon Slayer, Kuroko’s Basketball, My Hero Academia and MORE. So if you’re in Tokyo this year, keep scrolling to find out the best anime cafes that you can visit!

1. Kimetsu Cafe in Sweets Paradise

The cafe opened in January 2020 and is open until March 15th 2020! The cafe is held in a popular dessert restaurant called ‘Sweets Paradise’. The cafe is being held in many locations in Tokyo with the main locations being Akihabara, Ikebukuro and Ueno! For more information on the other locations, check out the cafes official website!

The cafe has tons of dishes on offer, each of which is based on a different Kimetsu No Yaiba character! My personal favorite was the Inosuke parfait! The dishes range in price from 1000yen to 2000yen which is fairly reasonable considering that this is an anime cafe. If you’re a Demon Slayer fan and you’re currently in Tokyo, I’d highly recommend visiting this cafe as soon as possible! The atmosphere, food and staff were all amazing. You can also buy tons of limited edition Demon Slayer merchandise at the cafe so it is well worth the visit!

The Pokemon cafe in Tokyo is a permanent anime cafe located in nihonbashi! Due to it being permanent, you can visit the cafe any time…however this sakura event will only last until the sakura season is over in Tokyo! This years event is themed around a ‘Sakura Afro Pikachu’, which is one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen!

You can buy Pikachu afro pancakes which cost 1,738yen along with a sakura Pikachu latte!! On top of that, the restaurant will be decorated with sakura and the packaging of other food items will also be decorated with the sakura afro pikachu!
